The method of woodworm eradication varies little from species to species, although treatment of timbers affected by death watch beetle (Xestobium rufovillosum) and house longhorn beetle (Hylotrupes bajulus) can necessitate the need for extensive repair works and the application of deep penetrating preservative pastes.
Our surveyors with their expertise in dealing with wood boring insects will determine the nature of any insect attack and specify the most suitable form of treatment. We only use the safest available chemicals when undertaking woodworm treatments, such as water based Permethrin products. These will usually allow the area to be re-entered within one or two hours following treatment. When required further deep penetrating preservative gels may be used to give protection to the timbers.
